We very recently buried my dear friend Kate and she wanted ‘the cheapest’ funeral. We by-passed the ‘usual’, bought the coffin on the internet and on the morning the friends (women) and daughter gathered flowers and ivy from our gardens and decorated the coffin ourselves. We dressed her ourselves as well. At the funeral itself she wanted laughter, dance and music, so as she was a yoga teacher we did some laughter yoga. She had an amazing collection of scarves so each person – as they arrived – was asked to choose a scarf and wear it at the funeral and then take it home with them.
