John Seymour – father of self-sufficiency. After his big 90th birthday, he decided his time had come. He stopped eating, supported by family, ex-wife coming to read autobiography to him, his only worry was that the worms would be able to get into his coffin. As it happened, the coffin did not arrive in time to bury him in. So he was wrapped in a blanket made from his own sheep’s wool. His sons and sons-in-law made a quick bier and we all said thoughts and memories then filled in the grave together.
