I was 11 when my parents told me how they wished to go. They want their ashes mixed together and thrown into the sea surrounding Hong Kong. (My father’s name means “Large Wave”) At first I was in denial, that its something in the distant future. I thought thinking about it would devastate me. But recently when I shared this with a friend he mentioned that it was very romantic. After today, I recall that memory and it made me a little more grateful to my parents. I think its a little funny now, “typical Dad, you old school romantic!” It is important that funerals resonate the characters of the recently deceased. I also hope to be able to approach death with a beaming smile. Appreciating the time that I have now with my family. Keep up the good work and god bless you.
