When my mother died my sister and I were present. The GP who came out to verify her death was not her own GP and he had lots of questions for me and my sister. We are both registered nurses and it felt like we were under interrogation. At the time we were not on duty as nurses, we were daughters who were supporting our mother to have a dignified death. The GP’s attitude and manner was not nice at the time our mother had died. I will always remember this and would hope other people are not treated like this at a very vulnerable time for everyone involved.
