My family and I have talked about what we want after death very openly. My mum wants under no circumstance to be cremated. Closed coffin, buried in the paddock of my grandfather’s farm where she grew up. No headstone, just nature. My dad wants to be cremated and scattered with mum (he is sure she will die first!) He wants ‘The Last Goodbye’ – Lord of the Rings – played at his funeral. I am 21 years old and my parents and partner are aware that I want to be buried in a hand decorated card board box and have a cherry blossom tree planted on top of me. I will give sustenance and life to that tree, forever be beautiful, and require no looking after from family. They can be obligation free!
