As a nurse on the inpatient unit at Ashgate Hospice I cared for a lady who was dying. She had grown up daughters and they had had a family party prior to their mum’s admission in which they all took turns to discuss their funeral wishes including music/clothing etc. I think in my experience they were the most forward thinking, open family I cared for. Their open attitude towards death and dying was easy to work with and I’m sure it helped them all through this process.
